Simon Lance Burgess
Simon is a leading insurance entrepreneur, undoubtedly pre-eminent in his field; combining discipline with creativity and innovation. He is widely believed to be Great Britain’s foremost authority on unemployment insurance, which he pioneered and developed as a Lloyd’s Underwriter in the 1980’s. His knowledge of the internet and expertise at developing and distributing value for money, socially responsible insurance policies to consumers is unrivalled.
Over the years Simon has won more awards for customer service, innovation, ethics and corporate social responsibility than any other insurance provider. Sara-Ann Burgess
Sara-Ann is a universally acknowledged consumer champion and a tireless campaigner for consumer rights. Her significant contribution to a series of Office of Fair Trading and Competition Commission investigations into the sale and distribution of Payment Protection Insurance, was undoubtedly the catalyst for the positive changes to the way Unemployment Insurance products are now marketed and sold.

She has won numerous awards for her work to secure a better deal for consumers and is a highly respected and experienced commentator on both unemployment insurance and other personal finance topics. Her advice and opinion is frequently sought by the media, trade bodies and consumer groups.
A brief history of Burgesses
Burgesses is a family-name steeped in history. Simon was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the birthplace of the oldest-traceable Burgesses (or freemen) in England. They were first recorded in 1189, during the first year of the reign of Richard the Lion Heart, and since then have taken part in civil ceremonies and been past and present mace-bearers to the Mayor.
